What Happened to Starkie Swenson?
On August 13, 1983, Starkie Swenson left his home on bicycle and set off into the Neenah, Wisconsin night. His destination and route are unknown. What is known: he was never seen again.
In the early 1990s, John C. Andrews was arrested, charged, and brought to trial for the murder of Starkie Swenson. During the court proceedings, Andrews halted the trial by submitting an Alford Plea - a legal option which allows defendants to maintain their claim of innocence while also acknowledging that the State has enough evidence to obtain a guilty verdict.
With his Alford Plea, Andrews accepted the charge of Homicide by Negligent Use of a Motor Vehicle and was sentenced to two years in prison. Starkie Swenson’s remains were never found.
Now - armed with new knowledge of the case and with the advantages of today’s technology, Dr. Jordan Karsten and his team have been asked by law enforcement to help locate the missing remains.
Welcome to the search for Starkie Swenson’s body.
