Episode 02: “There. Now You’re Dead.”
In August 1993, as the investigation into Starkie Swenson’s disappearance heads into its second decade, it seems the investigators are entirely out of leads. The case remains open, but as even the assigned detectives and county District Attorney point out, the case isn’t going anywhere fast.
Suddenly, a month later, everything changes. The investigation is re-classified from a missing persons case to a murder, and a man - John C. Andrews - is arrested and charged with the crime. It comes as a shock to many, including the local media, the family of Starkie Swenson, and Andrews himself.
What happened? How did a case that was stagnant for 10 years suddenly burst wide open?
In Episode Two, we learn the sordid details that broke the case, as told through preliminary hearing testimony from the three women who will lead the prosecution against John Andrews.
Buckle up.
